Freddy Alva was born in Peru & grew up in Jackson Heights, Queens. He edited two of the first NYHC fanzines to feature Graffiti, co-released the seminal New Breed Tape Compilation, ran Wardance Records & booked shows at the early Abc No Rio scene. In the past couple of years he has written online articles for Noisy/Vice, No Echo, Mass Appeal & Cvlt Nation.

SET IT OFF! Freddy Cricien aka Freddy Madball joins Danny and Jay for this episode. Freddy recaps the storied history of Madball, the legendary hardcore band he has fronted since 1988.

Jay and Danny are joined by Shadows Fall vocalist Brian Fair. Brian talks about how the upcoming reunion came together, hitting career milestones and the infamous “half-gold plaque” for the album “The War Within”. Brian also discusses coming up in the New England hardcore / metal scene with his band Overcast and his latest project Hell Night.

Eto is a rapper from Rochester NY and currently has 3 albums the last being released called “Long Story Short”. His album with DJ Muggs “Hells Roof” was a highlight of 2019. Popmaster Fabel is a member of the Rock Steady Crew, dance instructor, choreographer, visual artist, educator, Hip Hop historian, DJ, film maker, activist and more.

After catching up on current events; Jay and Danny welcome Mindforce | Pillars Of Ivory vocalist Jay Peta. Jay talks about how their debut full-length, Excalibur, came together. We dive into his new project, Pillars Of Ivory, which also features Death Threat vocalist Aaron Butkus; Hudson valley hardcore, Mindforce touring plans, mutual love of hip-hop and seeing himself in the “Kings At Crime” CD layout back in the day.

Lou Koller frontman for N.Y.H.C. legends Sick Of It All joins Danny and Jay to talk about his book “The Blood and the Sweat: The Story of Sick of It All’s Koller Brothers”, what keeps S.O.I.A. going, tour stories and about his cameo in the Civ “Can’t Wait One Minute More” video.
